Abstract

The Onehealth emerged to demonstrate the inseparable union between environmental, animal and human health, in addition to combating diseases, such as Yellow Fever, which affect these three major areas concomitantly. This work is based on a general overview of the cases of Yellow Fever that occurred between 2000 and 2012, demonstrating the importance of Onehealth as a measure to control this arbovirus. Yellow Fever is a non-contagious, acute viral hemorrhagic zoonosis of varying severity that has caused several epidemics in Brazil. This disease has two cycles, one urban and the other wild, both transmitted by hematophagous insects of the family Culicidae, mosquitoes of the gender Aedes are the urban vector of the disease, while Haemagogus and Sabethes are wild vectors. To do this research, articles were analyzed in national and international data sites using previously defined markers. In total, around 2 million studies were found on the subject. In order to refine the search, 20 (twenty) articles were selected for the reading and production of this research. Currently, the vaccine, distributed free of charge by the Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS), is the most effective method to control the disease, especially of people living in endemic areas. Still, there is a need to combat the vectors that transmit Yellow Fever, since they are also responsible for spreading Dengue, Zika and Chikungunya.
